Department of Communicative Disorders

Improve people's lives by helping them understand and be understood.

With options to earn an undergraduate, master's, or PhD-level degree from the Department of Communicative Disorders, you can learn how communication breaks down and how to help children and adults lead better lives through improved communication. We prepare our students to become speech language pathologists and the communicative disorders professors of tomorrow.

We're also home to the UL Lafayette Speech, Language and Hearing Center, where our students (supervised by clinical professionals) work with real clients for true hands-on training.
